The children's book, My Zayde is a Superhero, honors the strength and resilience of the Jewish people through the eyes of a young Jewish boy, David, who tells his grandfather's (his zayde's) heroic life story. David rightfully sees his zayde as a superhero, one who even wears a cape (a tallit)! David's zayde not only survived persecution because of his Jewish faith, fleeing Nazi Germany, but returned to fight back as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He ran into danger to defend his country and his people when he could have remained in safety. Zayde's true-life story is a reminder that no matter what forces threaten the Jewish people, they will never be destroyed. This age-appropriate account of a real-life Jewish hero encourages all children to be proud of their traditions, proud of their families, and proud of their faith.

Amanda J. Rothschild is a national security professional, former presidential speechwriter, and
strategic communications expert. She has served in several senior foreign policy and
communications positions in government as well as in the non-profit and private sector community.
